Add components
The Components area is where you build the pieces of your game. Runner supports card decks, dice, tiles, tokens, figurines, and boards, and each type has its own editor with a live preview. You create a component once, then place it on the table in the workbench. The same supply of tokens or tiles can be placed in more than one spot if your game needs it.
Card decks are the workhorse of most prototypes. Each deck has a card size, colors for the front and back, and a list of cards. You can type card text directly, or connect the deck to a Card List and import content in bulk from a spreadsheet. Dice come in the standard shapes with editable face labels, so a custom die with icons instead of numbers is just configuration, not custom work.
Tiles and tokens come in supplies. A supply can be a fixed mix (say, 20 forest tiles and 12 mountain tiles), an infinite source that never runs out, or a list-driven set where each row of content becomes a tile. On the table, a supply can sit in a bag, a bowl, or a laid-out grid. Boards can be built from tiles in a pattern, like a hex cluster, or designed as custom boards with movement tracks and spaces.
A useful habit: build the ugliest version of each component that communicates its function, and spend your time on quantities and text instead of looks. Solid colors and a short label are enough to playtest with. You can restyle everything later without touching the rules.
