Our story

We build games to
bring people together.

Tabletop Runner is made by Running Innovation, a company founded by Randall and Andrew. We are game designers, developers, and lifelong fans of getting people around a table.

Our journey started with our own card game, Bidder Battle, which we brought to life through Kickstarter. That experience taught us how rewarding it is to take an idea from a notebook sketch to a real game people play together. It also taught us how hard the process can be.

The problem we lived.

When we wanted to playtest Bidder Battle digitally, we turned to Tabletop Simulator. It is an incredible platform, and getting your game in front of real players through it is one of the best ways to validate whether your design actually works.

But getting there takes real work. Configuring save files, rendering card sheets, hosting your assets somewhere, deploying to the Steam Workshop, then doing it all over again every time you tweak a card or change a rule. None of that is game design. It is just setup.

Every game designer we talked to felt the same way. The end result is worth it, but the back-and-forth between idea and playtest eats up time that should be spent on the parts that are actually fun. We wanted to get that time back.

So we built the tool we wished existed.

Tabletop Runner is a visual game builder. You design your cards, boards, tokens, and rules in a browser. We generate all the assets, code, and game logic automatically. One click exports a fully playable mod to Tabletop Simulator, complete with scripted mechanics.

No Lua. No JSON. No Photoshop. Just your creativity and an idea.

We believe the tabletop community gets stronger when more people can make games. The barrier should not be technical skill. It should be whether you have a good idea and the drive to see it through. We are here to handle the rest.

Tabletop Simulator is just the beginning. We are working toward exports for Tabletopia, Board Game Arena, and more, so your game can reach players wherever they play. And beyond digital playtesting, we want to give the community the tools to take a game all the way, from first idea to finished, published reality.

Let's make something together.

Whether you have been designing games for years or just had your first idea last night, we would love to help you build it.
