What's New
Everything we have added, improved, and fixed in Runner, newest first.
- ImprovedThe What's New icon in the sidebar is now a megaphone instead of sparkles.
- FixedFixed the Amazon link button on game library
- FixedBehind-the-scenes fixes to keep the site building and deploying reliably.
Print your game and play it at the table
Export for Print turns any deck into a PDF with your cards at their real size, laid out on the paper you pick and marked with cut lines. Print it, cut it, and playtest around a real table before anyone opens Tabletop Simulator.
Dark mode
Runner now comes in light and dark. Flip between them from the user menu, or leave it on System and Runner follows whatever your computer is set to.
A What’s New page
Every update to Runner now has a home. Major features up top, and one click shows every smaller change and fix that came with it.
Show everything in this update (9)Hide the details
- NewExport for Print builds a print-ready PDF of your cards at real size, with dashed cut lines you can turn off.
- NewPrint on Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A3, A4, or A5 paper. Pick one deck or several, and watch the progress while it builds.
- NewExport individual card files instead of a print sheet, one picture per unique card.
- NewInclude card backs in a print export, either as separate pages for a second print pass or interleaved for a double-sided printer.
- NewLight and dark themes, with a System option that follows your device. Your choice is remembered and applies before the page appears, so nothing flashes on load.
- NewA What’s New page in the sidebar listing every release, with an expand button for the full detail. A dot appears next to it whenever an update ships that you have not read yet.
- FixedLong deploys no longer drop with "Lost connection" partway through while the build is still running.
- FixedA downloaded game now saves under its own name, instead of arriving as a generic file with no extension.
- FixedPictures you have already viewed once no longer sit as an empty grey box that never finishes loading. Most noticeable on game covers, but it could affect any picture anywhere.
Design your own card layout
Custom is now a card format of its own, and the card itself is the editor. Drag text and pictures onto it, sit a cost, a title, and a symbol side by side across the top, pin a value to a corner, or run the art edge to edge behind a name bar. Six starting layouts cover the shapes card games keep reusing, and every piece you add gets a column on your card list right away.
Personal play areas that reach the table
Turning on a personal zone or draw pile now builds a real per-seat area in front of every player, laid out as a grid of card slots you can bind to a specific deck. Any slot you do not need can be switched off, so a play area no longer has to be a full rectangle.
Deal more than cards
The Deal mechanic can now hand out tokens, tiles, dice, and figurines straight from a supply on the table. Choose where they land, in a stack, a bag, or a bowl, and where that sits next to each player.

- NewTiles gained a Rounded Box shape, and "Square" now reads "Box" everywhere in the editor.
- NewSimple tokens can be cut to a Box, Rounded Box, Circle, or Meeple shape instead of always being a plain square.
- ImprovedThree new Tabletop Deployer releases, with a Windows build we can now cut without a Windows machine.
- Fixed"Deal up to" now counts the cards already sitting in a zone and tops it up, instead of dealing a full extra handful.
- FixedDealing to every player now fills every seat, whether or not somebody is sitting in it.
- FixedBags and bowls created by a deal no longer spawn twice, stacked on top of each other.
- FixedCards dealt to the players seated along the sides of the table arrive facing them, not sideways.

- FixedCard fronts are no longer blank in multiplayer builds made with Tabletop Deployer.

Every file in your game, in one place
The new Assets tab collects every picture, sound, and PDF you have uploaded in a game, with filters by file type and a bar showing how much storage you are using. Deleting a file clears it from wherever it was used and warns you first if it is still in play.
Five new pieces for the table
Notecard, Digital Clock, Counter, MP3 Player, and Custom PDF drop straight onto a table zone. Pin house rules to the table, run a timer, keep a tally, play a soundtrack, or show a rulebook page.

- ImprovedFiles marked "In use" so you can see at a glance what your game actually depends on.
- FixedHomepage fixes on phones: the hero die and token now appear, the tagline no longer wraps oddly, the meeple stays clear of the step cards, and the editor picture keeps its shape.
Big decks open fast and scroll smoothly
A deck now only builds the cards you can actually see, so a 500 card deck opens as quickly as a 5 card one. Uploaded pictures also get a small copy made for grids and lists, so the whole page stops fighting for space.
Your Steam link fills itself in
Publishing to the Steam Workshop now writes the Workshop address onto your game’s Library page for you, unless you have already set one of your own.

Publish to the Steam Workshop from Tabletop Deployer
A Steam Workshop card sits beside Local Install and Multiplayer Build. Give it a title, a description, and a visibility setting, and it creates the Workshop item without opening Tabletop Simulator. Publishing again updates the same item, so your address and your subscribers stay put.
A public Library for finished games
Published games get a showcase page with a cover, a gallery, a player range, and buttons through to wherever your game lives, from Amazon and Etsy to Discord and YouTube. Designers can add any game they find to their own library in one click.
Runner Pro, and Runner on a phone
A proper upgrade page lays Hobby and Pro side by side. Separately, the sidebar, the editor, and the table workbench all work on a small screen now, with real touch support for placing, moving, resizing, and rotating zones.

Build your own board
Pick a size, set a background and border, and add spaces as rectangles, circles, or hexagons, each with a label, a symbol, a color, a capacity, and pieces that start on it. Generators lay out whole tracks and checkered grids in one step, card zones sit right on the board, and a board can be two-sided. It comes out in Tabletop Simulator as a printed board with snapping on every space and its starting pieces already in place.
A homepage worth sending to people
A full landing page with the story of what Runner does, plus an About page covering where it came from and where it is going.

Rounds, phases, and mechanics
The workbench right panel became a round editor. Lay out Setup, Start of Game, your per-turn phases, and End of Game, attach mechanics like Deal, Shuffle, Roll, and Assign Judge to the pieces they act on, and set your win conditions. Turn order, reverse order, skipping empty seats, and passing turns are all configurable, and phases advance from a button in the game itself.
Boards built from tiles
Build a board out of a tile pack instead of a picture. Toggle spaces on a grid, flip individual tiles, drag them between spaces, and choose whether tiles keep their spots or shuffle across the board every time the game loads.
Dice you can roll, and results with names
The Roll mechanic rolls a pool for the whole table or the rolling player and announces the outcome. Name your own results, such as Yahtzee, Full House, or Large Straight, with drag-to-reorder priority and presets for the classics.

Over 150 ready-made pieces from Tabletop Simulator’s own catalog, from chess sets and poker chips to playing cards and go stones, plus an RPG kit of heroes, beasts, villains, and dungeon props. Browse them and drop them on the table like anything else.

The table workbench
A top-down view of your table where you place, drag, rotate, and resize every zone, with grid snapping, a ghost preview, and undo and redo. Draw piles, discards, submission piles, display areas, and markets all behave the way their name suggests once the game is built.
